Keep your Koi Healthy with Quality Pond Food

Good pond food is formulated to keep the pond fish healthy and to maintain the quality of the pond water as well.

It is important that pond food be easily digestible to limit organic waste, which turns into algae fuel, produced in the pond by suing ingredients that are easily and more fully digestible by the fish.

Pond fish live in a special environment that allows for only limited chances for finding natural food that would satisfy all of their nutritional needs. Food for the pond fish is generally formed into sticks or pellets that float on top of the pond water for longer periods of time in order to prevent the pellets from falling to the bottom of the garden pond and polluting the water before they can be eaten.

You will find different formulations of pond food available for the cooler weather of spring and fall, as well as for the hot weather of summer. The digestive capabilities of the pond fish vary with the temperature of the pond water.

The special formulas that vary with the seasons ensure that the fish receive all of the nutrients they need during all of these different circumstances.
